Are things going to get out of control?

After everything The Pirate Bay went through, you would of thought that the company who bought them would of made it a legal site and everything would of resolved itself, but after recent rumours that the company doesn’t have the money to buy TPB, then the Swedish government trying to get the “ISP” of TPB to stop the site from being live. They retaliated by posting a temporary site, mocking the move, and claiming they would be up again in a few hours and sure enough they were.
What I see happening is this is building up more of a resistance against the record and movie industry despite the fact that they are clearly in the wrong. Then you take political groups like the Pirate Party who are going to fight for a change in laws which can only lead to better things for sites like TPB (Although I doubt they’d be made legal). But to top it all off you, then have the UK government saying they are going to start cutting off persistent file sharers from the internet.
Now I don’t agree with file sharing etc and at the end of the day it is illegal but I can imagine there are alot of people who feel very strongly about it and I bet enough people to get upset enough to cause some very large problems whether its electing the pirate party, by supporting TPB or simply just increasing their file sharing as a statement to the government and industries who are trying to fight the problem.
For me Spotify is the right way to go, take a problem and then try and find a solution that will prevent the problem.
And tools like bbc iplayer, 4od etc have also solved a part of the problem.
What really needs to be done is to discuss with these groups what could be done to make them happier to stop file sharing, rather than give them more reasons too fight for causes like TPB.
Either way TPB are proving that they aren’t going to give up easily and to be honest, maybe we need them until the industry changes its tactics.
